Biography

1997年大阪市生まれ。京都市在住。
4歳から18歳までの間を徳島市で過ごす。

2023年京都大学大学院工学研究科建築学専攻を修了。
修士課程では平田晃久に師事し、論文「エコロジカルな建築に向けた多孔性の概念について–環境哲学の議論と住宅建築の分析を交えて–」で修士号を取得。

現在は「多孔性」「アチューンメント」「Habitability」などをテーマに建築設計と研究活動に取り組んでいる。
京都大学大学院総合生存学館(思修館)博士後期課程在籍(2025-)、京都精華大学非常勤講師(2025-)。

近年の建築活動に、住宅の改修に関する「K projects」(2023-,進行中,未発表) や「長い家」(2024-,進行中)、 「烏丸七条の酒屋」(2022) などがある。


Teruaki Sakoda was born in 1997 in Osaka City. Currently resides in Kyoto.
He spent the time from the age of 4 to 18 in Tokushima City.

He graduated from the Department of Architecture, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University. He studied under Akihisa Hirata for his master's course and received his master's degree in 2023 with the thesis "Porosity toward Ecological Architecture–Through discussion of environmental philosophy and analysis of residential architecture–”.

He is currently engaged in architectural design and research activities based on the themes of “porosity” “attunement” and “Habitability”
Ph.D. student at Kyoto University Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability(Shishukan) (2025-), Part-time lecturer at Kyoto Seika University (2025-).

Recent architecture works include “K projects” (2023-,in progress, unpublished,)  “Long House” (2024-, in progress), and "Sake Shop in Karasuma Shichijo" (2022).
